The Company Berlin was founded in 2011 by Kerstin Fuchs as an experimental performance art ensemble, and was based up till November 2013 in Berlin, Germany.

 

“As one hears and contributes to the sounds of the group, one is in the role of “audience” and also in the role of “performer” for oneself and as the breathing and vocal sounds become audible sometimes in the role of a performer for others as well. ” (about Teach Yourself to Fly by Pauline Oliveros)

 

In the work of the Company we are “Audience and Performers” at the same time.

 

5 performers with diverse backgrounds, not all of them art related, met once per week at a rehearsal space in a former school building in the eastern part of Berlin.

 

Public presentations were thought of as a kind of exhibition.
